The present day Czech Republic is seek with finding their own identity and culture as a state. Following forty years of communist fudge oer Czechoslovakia, the citizens staged a coup détat officially known as the Velvet Revolution, to take back control from the organization. Following the Velvet Revolution, in 1992, the Velvet Divorce occurred and Czechoslovakia became the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Currently, many of the liberal thinkers in Czech atomic number 18 increasely frustrated with the insufficiency of citizen participation in their judicature and what they describe as a quiet complacency. Those opposed to the lack of participation seem to be in favor of a more direct democracy, rather than representative.
